This was the very first piece that I took a leap in combining two very different styles that I have been experimenting with over the years, The First style is the Gritty Realism of the castle. The second style is the clean cut simple pop art of the soldiers. With the Pine trees, and rocks, I mixed the two styles cross over together, which helps the piece flow cohesively. The Horse running hit with the arrows, I added to the piece last. Which helped connect a narrative relation ship with the pack of riders, giving them purpose.
In this narrative, one last horse with out his rider escapes the galloping hoard. The last of the Teutonic knights has fallen into the thick white mist of the swamp lands of the long forgotten hidden castle of the Misty Pass.
