While I was on my way to a friends cabin, I was inspired by the cows along the side of the road. The colours of the cows were perfectly contrasted so beautifully together. It as if they knew they were best paired together. Nature often arranges itself into patterns of amazing colour pallets naturally just being themselves.
My grandfather had just past away shortly after I made this painting. When he passed away I knew that he had gone to be with Jesus. This really made me look at my life, I knew that my lifestyle if I were to die would not be pleasing to my grandfather, or more importantly to Jesus. it was time to stop living for myself and come back to my heavenly Father. Much like the story of the prodigal son, this painting is a marker of the beginning of the journey I made back home. Showing 'the cows coming home' means to me, that the long dark days I had of partying finally were finished, and I was ready to return. The Church on the horizon was symbolic of the home I was returning to.
